Galesburg, Ill. - The Bucs couldn't find any offense against the Prairie Fire of Knox College this afternoon, losing 5-0.
The first half would be an even draw, as neither team could find the back of the net.
Shooting woes seemed to be numerous for both teams, as each coach subbed liberally, trying to find the right combination for success.
While the Prairie Fire were able to get off 6 shots in the first frame, none were on target. Unfortunately for Beloit, they did not see much offensive possession, and were unable to get one off until the 2nd period.
In net, senior GK Jere Bauer went the distance, making 5 saves, while allowing 5 goals. 2 of those 5 saves came in the first half of play.
For Knox, Justin Dunn played all 90 minutes, not recording a stat.
In the 2nd half, it was more Knox than Beloit, as the Prairie Fire took 9 more shots, and were able to put 3 more past Bauer.
The lone shot for Beloit this afternoon came from the foot of Connor Peterson, at the 71st minute.
The loss drops the Bucs to 3-6 on the season. The blue and gold will use this week to rest and recharge, as they have off until this coming weekend.
Beloit is scheduled to welcome Cornell College, an MWC foe, to the friendly confines of Strong Stadium on Saturday. It will be another MWC back-to-back for both the women and the Men. The women are scheduled to kick off at 1:00, with the Men taking the pitch immediately after at 3:30.
