Three-Goal First Half Propels Buccaneers to Third Straight Win

October 11, 2016

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer scored twice in the first 15 minutes of their 3-1 non-conference win over Edgewood College at the Strong Complex Field Tuesday and added another goal in the 31st minute as they posted their third straight victory and ran their unbeaten streak to four.

Jose Gutierrez got Beloit going at the 10:10 mark off an assist from Connor Peterson before Daniel Stockton made it 2-0 five minutes later, unassisted.  Gutierrez made it a 3-0 lead at the half with his second goal of the game at 32:20.

The Eagles final broke thru at the 61:55 mark, the first goal Beloit had allowed in over 270 minutes but that was all they'd get as Jere Bauer and EJ Lowney combined for eight saves - Bauer with three in the first half and Lowney with five in the second.

Beloit had the edge in shots with 13 to Edgewood's 11 while EC had seven corner kicks to the Bucs' six.

The Buccaneers look to continue their momentum as they head back to Midwest Conference play with a double road weekend, playing at Monmouth College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and at Illinois College at 11:00 a.m. Sunday.
