October 7, 2016

Watertown, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team recorded their second straight shutout, blanking Maranatha Baptist Bible University 3-0 on Friday.

Emmett Hendrickson got the scoring started with a goal, assisted by Isaiah Turner-Wyatt, 21 minutes into the match.  That goal held thru halftime for the Buccaneers.  Turner-Wyatt added a goal 16 minutes into the second half, assisted by Martin Garrett-Curie, to make it 2-0.  Andreas Piepenburg scored his first collegiate goal at 68:35, assisted by Turner-Wyatt, to close out the scoring.

A pair of goalkeepers and the defense did the rest.  Jere Bauer made three saves in just under 70 minutes of time before Alex Lyon finished up the shutout with one save in the remaining 20-plus minutes.  Beloit out-shot the Sabercats 16-7 and had a slight 5-4 edge on corner kicks.

The Buccaneers have the weekend off before getting back on the field Tuesday when they host Edgewood College in a 4:00 p.m. game at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
