Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team had a tough home weekend, dropping a pair of Midwest Conference games in a 4-0 loss to Grinnell College on Saturday and a 3-0 loss to Knox College on Sunday at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
Sunday, the teams battled scoreless until the Prairie Fire broke through under three minutes before halftime. It stayed 1-0 for most of the second hald until KC tacked on a pair of late goals, the first on a penalty kick with four minutes remaining and the final tally with 17 seconds left.
Jere Bauer made seven saves in goal for Beloit, who was out-shot 16-1.
Back on Saturday, Grinnell scored twice in each half while holding the Buccaneers at bay. The final goal of the match was an Own goal.
Bauer made six saves. GC won the shots 13-3 and had 14 corner kicks to the Bucs' three.
Beloit has the week before traveling to Cornell College next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. MWC match.
