Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team came up just short in a 2-1 loss to Lake Forest College in the Midwest Conference opener at the Strong Complex Soccer Field Sunday afternoon.
Actually, they were just high in the loss. Isaiah Turner-Wyatt's header with about six seconds left in regulation went over the goal, the last chance the Bucs had to even the game and force overtime.
The Foresters broke thru first just under 13 minutes into the contest on a scramble in front of the net and added a second goal at 61:47 of the second half to make it 2-0.
Emmett Hendrickson cut the deficit in half at 65:21, unassisted, but LFC turned away several Buccaneer opportunities to score the equalizer in the final 25 minutes.
Jere Bauer made five saves in net for Beloit. The Foresters had a 15-6 advantage in shots while both teams had four corners.
The Buccaneers have the week off before getting back on the pitch next Saturday when they host Grinnell College at 1:00 p.m. at the Strong Field. They host Knox College at the same time on Sunday.
