Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team ran their winning streak to three on Sunday with a 3-2 win over Iowa Wesleyan University at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
The win streak is the longest since a four-game run in 2012.
Daniel Stockton headed in the first goal of the game on a nice assist from Joe Froelich just under eight minutes into the match. That goal held up until the Tigers tied it at the 34:03 mark, sending the game to halftime 1-1.
Emmett Hendrickson regained the lead for Beloit five minutes into the second half with his first collegiate goal off an assist from Isaiah Turner-Wyatt. Hendrickson made it two career goals 15 minutes later, assisted by Stockton, to give the Bucs a two-goal advantage at 3-1. That second goal proved very big as IWU pulled to within one with just over five minutes remaining. But the Buccaneers held off the Iowa Wesleyan pressure in the final minutes to secure the win.
Alex Lyons made one save in the first 45 minutes while Asa Hatten had three saves in the second half. The Bucs had a 17-7 shots advantage and a 10-1 spread on corner kicks.
Beloit looks to continue their strong run on Wednesday when they host Marian University at the Strong Complex Field. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.
