Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team had their chances in the opening but couldn't hit the back of the net. They made up for it in the second 45 minutes on the way to a 2-1 win over Bethany Lutheran College on Sunday at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
BLC struck first just under seven minutes into the game and held that lead into halftime. But the Buccaneers came out firing on all cylinders in the second half.
Daniel Stockton, assisted by Jose Gutierrez, nearly walked the ball into the net to tie the game at the 53:32 mark. Just over 10 minutes later Hunter Jewell headed in a corner opportunity from Emmett Hendrickson for what proved to be the game-winner.
To underline the Bucs' dominant second half, they outshot the Vikings 13-1 to hold a 19-5 advantage for the game and had three corners to lift their game edge to 9-3.
Jere Bauer had one save in the first half while Asa Hatten didn't face a shot on goal in the second.
Beloit is off until traveling to Rockford University on Friday for a 5:00 p.m. game.
