Men's Soccer: Buccaneers Play Strong But Fall to Carroll 1-0

Jere Bauer, 9-30Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team made Midwest Conference-rival Carroll University work for nearly every touch, but they got free one time and scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 loss for the Bucs.

The teams played scoreless soccer for almost 75 minutes before the Pioneers converted a pass in front of the goal at the 74:10 mark.  Beloit had two shots in the final 13-plus minutes but couldn't score the equalizer on either of them.

Carroll had 20 shots to the Buccaneers nine and led in corner kicks 8-3.  Jere Bauer made seven saves in net for Beloit.

The Bucs are now off until October 10, when they host Lawrence University at the Strong Complex Field.
