Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team got themselves on the right side of the ledger Saturday with a 2-0 win over Northland College at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
Isaiah Turner-Wyatt got his foot on the ball last during a scramble in front of the net, assisted by Jose Gutierrez, to give Beloit the lead for good at the 15:39 mark. Rikley Buckingham made it a 2-0 advantage seven minutes later, assisted by Joe Froelich, to complete the scoring.
The Buccaneers never let the Muskies get too close, winning the shots battle 18-10. They also had four corner kicks to two for NC. Jere Bauer made two saves in 61-plus minutes of action before Alex Lyon finished up the final 29 minutes for the shared shutout.
Beloit looks to keep the momentum going Wednesday when they host Concordia University of Wisconsin in their final tune-up before Midwest Conference play begins Saturday at St. Norbert. Kickoff Wednesday is at 4:30 p.m.
