River Forest, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday, with the Cougars scoring both of their goals in the second 45 minutes.
The teams played an even opening half, with CUC getting five shots to the Buccaneers' four, Two of Beloit's shots were on net to none for Concordia.
The Cougars finally broke the scoreless tie just over two minutes into the second half. They added an insurance goal, and thwarted the Bucs' efforts to tie it up, with a second goal just over five minutes before the end of regulation time.
Jere Bauer played 64:11 with one save while Asa Hatten minded the net for the final 25:49, also with one save. CUC led in shots 16-6, including 11-2 in the second half, and had 11 corners to Beloit's three.
The Buccaneers will look for a better result on Saturday when they host Northland College at the Strong Complex Field. Game time is at 1:00 p.m.
