Jacksonville/Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team saw another tough late-game loss spoil a great effort as they fell 1-0 in overtime at Knox College on Sunday in the second of two Midwest Conference road games. Knox is undefeated in Conference play.
Beloit dropped a 4-1 decision at Illinois College on Saturday to begin the trip.
Sunday the two squads played even for over 97 minutes, with BJ Kiser making 14 saves in that span. But the Prairie Fire finally got one in the back of the net at 97:29 for the game-winner. KC held the shots advantage 44-8 and had 18 corner kicks to the Bucs' four.
On Saturday, Illinois College scored twice in the opening half to lead 2-0 at the break. They added a third goal at 57:10 of the second half before David Hlawek, assisted by Daniel Stockton, got the Buccaneers on the board with eight minutes remaining. The Blueboys closed the scoring at 83:15.
Beloit has a week before getting back on the pitch next Saturday when they travel to Lawrence University. Game time is at 1:00 p.m. in Appleton.
