The Beloit College men’s lacrosse team fell to Aurora on the road 20-6 Saturday night but have earned the fourth-seed in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference and will return to the Spartans’ home field for another shot in the first round of league tournament action Wednesday.
The Buccaneers will face top-seeded Aurora Wednesday, May 2 at 4 p.m. in the first round. The other semifinal features two-seed Concordia-Wisconsin playing host to number three Benedictine.
At Saturday’s game under the lights, John Murphy recorded 15 saves bringing his career total to 412 to surpass the career record previously held by Trevor Kenahan.
Mark Gannon and Michael Boyland found the back of the net twice each while Nick Meisberger, who now holds the program record for most games played as a Buccaneer, and Matt Lee also tallied goals in the contest.
Jake Wallace moved into second in the season record book with eight groundballs Saturday bringing his season total to 89.
