Men's Lacrosse Picked to Finish Third in MLC

February 21, 2018

The Beloit College men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish third in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference this season by the league's head coaches.

The Buccaneers earned a share of the MLC title last season posting a 7-1 record in league play. Aurora and Concordia University Wisconsin, the other two to share the title, are picked to finish first and second in 2018 respectively.

The Bucs return six MLC All-Conference selections including juniors Michael Boyland, Mark Gannon and Luke Thompson and seniors Chris Anderson, Jake Wallace and Nick Meisberger.

Boyland, a first-team pick a year ago, registered the second most points (43) for Beloit in 2017 including 25 goals and three assists. Anderson returns to the Buc defense after being selected to the MLC first team in 2017.

Gannon led the Bucs with 50 points including 23 goals and a team-high 27 assists. He was joined on the Second Team All-MLC by Wallace and Thompson. Meisberger added honorable mention honors in 2017 and returns to the Bucs' midfield in 2018.

Rashad Devoe, the 2017 MLC Coach of the Year, begins his third year at the helm for Beloit after leading the Bucs to a 10-6 record last season.
