Beloit, WI -- Chris Anderson, a sophomore defender for the Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team from Amherst, Massachusetts, has been named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 10. The Conference Office announced the honor Monday afternoon.
Anderson helped lead the Buccaneers to a pair of MLC wins last week as the squad topped Concordia Chicago 29-4 at Strong Stadium Wednesday night and Milwaukee School of Engineering 12-11 on Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee.
In those two games Anderson was a strong presence on the defense, recording 14 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. He also scored his first career goal in the win over Concordia Chicago. For the season Anderson is second on the Bucs with 39 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.
Beloit, 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the MLC, play at Conference co-leader Aurora University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
