Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team shook off a first-half deficit with a second- half comeback but fell late 16-14 to Benedictine University in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference opener for both squads.

The Bucs jumped out early with goals by Liam O'Connor (Michael Boyland) and Matt Kelly (O'Connor) before BenU scored eight unanswered to lead 8-2 after one period.  The Eagles increased their run to 10 straight scores and a 10-2 lead in the second quarter before it was stopped by back-to-back goals from Rikley Buckingham (O'Connor) and Tanner James (Mark Gannon).  After Benedictine scored again Kelly (Nick Meisberger) scored his second of the game.  BenU tallied in the last minute of the half to lead 12-5 at the break.
