St. Paul, MN – Bob Dignazio, the only head coach the Beloit College Men’s Lacrosse program has known, is stepping down from his position to accept the job of Recruiting Coordinator at Macalester College.
Macalester announced the hiring this morning.
Dignazio built the Buccaneer Men’s Lacrosse program from the ground up, coming to Beloit in 2012 as head coach of the new team. In his three seasons he led the squad to a 20-20 overall record, including a 3-3 mark in the team’s first season in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference and a spot in the MLC Tournament in 2015.
“Bob did a tremendous job of advancing the program from a 19-man, all-freshmen squad in 2013 to the 35-player team in 2015 that qualified for the Conference Tournament,” said Beloit Director of Athletics Tim Schmiechen. “His tireless efforts will never be forgotten. We look to maintain the momentum he built for Men’s Lacrosse at Beloit College and continue to grow and enhance the program for many years to come.”
A national search for Dignazio’s replacement will take place during the Summer months.
