Beloit, WI -- Both the Beloit College Men's and Women's Lacrosse teams will be playing in their respective Conference Tournaments this week, two wins away from a spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Men's Lacrosse team, under head coach Bob Dignazio, opens play in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Tournament on Wednesday. The #4 seed, the Bucs will play at two-time defending Tournament champion and #1 seed Aurora University at 4:45 p.m. Third-seeded Concordia University plays at #2 seed Benedictine University in the other semifinal on Wednesday night. The winners advance to Saturday's Championship Game, to be played at the highest remaining seeded team's site, with the winner earning the league's automatic NCAA Division III bid.
Beloit lost to the Spartans 15-7 at Strong Stadium on April 1 in their regular season meeting.
The Women's Lacrosse team, under first-year head coach Maggie Zentgraf, opens play in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Tournament on Friday at Concordia University. The Buccaneers, the #3 seed, take on #2 seed Aurora University at 4:00 p.m. In the earlier semifinal, #1 seed Concordia University hosts #4 seed Benedictine University at 1:00 p.m. As with the Men, the winners advance to Saturday's MWLC Tournament Championship Game on Saturday afternoon in Mequon for the Conference's automatic NCAA Division III bid.
The Bucs narrowly fell at Aurora 9-8 on April 15 in their regular season meeting.
