Whinnery (O'Connor) scored with five seconds left in the half for his third goal in five-plus minutes to make it 6-6 at the break.
Cornell jumped back on top midway through the third period before the Buccaneers took control of the game with three unanswered scores. Kelly (Whinnery), O'Connor (Rikley Buckingham) and Whinnery (O'Connor) scored in the final 4:17 of the period to put the Bucs up 9-7 heading to the fourth.
Cornell pulled back to within a goal 1:36 into the fourth quarter but Kelly re-established the two-goal lead to close out the scoring as the Buccaneers held CC at bay the rest of the way.
Jake Wallace had eight ground balls and four caused turnovers to support the winning effort while Carner added five ground balls. John Murphy made 19 saves in net, the second-most ever in a game for Beloit.
