Five-Goal Run Downs Bucs at Concordia

March 26, 2015

Mequon, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team was overwhelmed by a five-goal unanswered run to open the game by Concordia University that led to an 8-1 loss on Thursday.

The teams battled scoreless for nearly 13 minutes of the opening period.  But the Falcons finally broke through with two goals in the final 2:17, including the second score three seconds before the end of the quarter, and never looked back.  They added a third goal early in the second to make it a 3-0 lead at the break.

CUW poured it on in the third period, scoring four of the five goals sandwiched around the Bucs' lone tally from Grant Oie (Liam O'Connor) at the 8:39 mark.  Concordia closed the scoring midway through the fourth quarter.

John Murphy had 11 saves in net for Beloit while back-up Trevor Kenahan had two as the Bucs were out-shot 46-9.  Jake Wallace had six ground balls and three caused turnovers.  Chris Anderson had four ground balls.

The Buccaneers are off until next Wednesday when they host Aurora University at Strong Stadium.  Face-off is at 7:00 p.m.
