Memphis, TN -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team ran into a strong opponent in the opening game of their two-game Spring Trip, falling at Rhodes College 12-4 Wednesday.
The Bucs stayed close early on, beginning with Jake Pritscher's game-opening goal in the first period. The Lynx scored twice in the final 3:59 of the period to lead 2-1 after one.
Rhodes made it 3-1 early in the second quarter but Beloit got back-to-back scores from Matt Kelly (Grant Oie) and Zach Carner to tie it up at 3-all. RC then went on a four-goal, half-ending run to head into the break with a 7-3 lead.
The Lynx continued the run with an early third period goal before Liam O'Connor (Nick Meisberger) stopped the run at the 9:04 mark. That was it for the Buccaneers as Rhodes regained control and scored three goals in the final 7:54 of the third nto make it 11-4. They tacked on a final goal late in the fourth.
John Murphy made 13 saves in net for the Bucs.
Beloit continues their trip, heading to Arkansas for a game against Hendrix College on Saturday. Faceoff is at 1:00 p.m.
