Buccaneer Lacrosse Programs Get Third Season Underway in Michigan

Beloit, WI – The Beloit College Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse teams will get the Spring sports season off to an early start, both opening their 2015 seasons against Albion College in Michigan.

The Men’s squad, under third-year head coach Bob Dignazio, will take on the Britons on Saturday, February 21, at Detroit Country Day School in Beverly Hills, Michigan, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Central time.

The Women, under first-year head coach Maggie Zentgraf, will play Albion at the same site on Sunday, February 22, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Central time.  Zentgraf will be leading the team in her first game after serving as an assistant coach for the Bucs in 2014.

The Buccaneer Men are coming off a 9-6 record in 2014 and are entering their first season as a member of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference.  They return their top four scorers from a year ago.

The Women are coming off a 10-7 record last season, including a 6-4 mark in the Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference.  They also return their top four scorers.

After the opener, the Men’s squad takes on Trine University in Lisle, Illinois, on Wednesday, February 25.  Their home opener will be on Saturday, March 21, vs. Milwaukee School of Engineering at Strong Stadium.

After playing Albion the Women are off until Wednesday, March 4, when they host Elmhurst College in Strong Stadium.  They then head out for a two-game Spring Trip to Virginia.
