Green Bay, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team put together a strong performance against 14th-ranked St. Norbert College at the UW-Green Bay Kress Center Saturday but dropped their final game 73-62.
The teams had a close first half that featured eight ties and 10 lead changes, with Beloit's Mike Gulve making a three at the buzzer to give the Bucs a 30-28 lead at the break.
After the 12th tie of the game at 37-all 3:30 into the second half SNC went on a 16-2 run to take a 53-39 lead midway through the half. The Buccaneers couldn't get closer than the final 11-point margin, which capped a closing 5-0 run.
Beloit shot 47.2% for the game (25-53), including making 9-16 from three-point. St. Norbert finished at 47.6% (30-63). The Bucs committed 19 turnovers while SNC finished with eight.
Gulve finished with 16 points, including four three-pointers, while Andrew Bremner had his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Tristan Shoup and Cody Risseeuw both added 13 points, Shoup also with nine rebounds.
Bremner, Gulve and Jacob Manthe all played their final game for the Bucs.
