Appleton, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team got out to a very strong start Tuesday night at Lawrence University and never looked back in a 79-58 Midwest Conference win.
The Bucs scored 26 of the first 35 points to build a 26-9 lead with 8:24 left in the opening half. The Vikings got back within 13 two minutes later but that's as close as they'd get the rest of the game. Beloit shot 51.7% (15-29) in the opening 20 minutes while holding LU to 20.7% shooting (6-29).
The second half was more of the same Buccaneer dominance. Lawrence pulled within 60-44 with 8:36 remaining but five minutes later the Bucs enjoyed their largest lead of the night at 73-47 before Head Coach Brian Vraney emptied his bench.
The Buccaneers finished at 48.1% (26-54) shooting for the game while the Vikings shot 34.5% (20-58). Beloit also dished out 20 assists on their 26 made field goals. The win was the first at Lawrence for Beloit since February 11, 2012.
