McAfee Earns Second Team All-MWC Honors

Steve McAfee-All MWCGrinnell, IA – Steve McAfee, Jr., a 6’5 junior forward for the Beloit College Men’s Basketball team from Chicago, Illinois (Urban Prep Academy-Englewood), has earned a spot on the 2014-15 All-Midwest Conference Men’s Basketball Team, landing Second Team accolades. 

The Conference office released the team on Thursday.

McAfee, who earned Honorable Mention recognition as a freshman in 2012-13, led the Buccaneers in scoring (18.9 ppg), rebounding (7.0) and steals (35) while finishing second on the team in field goal percentage (55.8%).  At the end of the regular season he ranked fourth in the MWC in scoring, seventh in rebounding, eighth in steals and sixth in field goal shooting.

He became the 21st member of the Beloit Men’s Basketball 1,000-point club at Illinois College on February 4.  He finished the season with 1,080 points, putting him 15th as he looks to his senior season.  

The Buccaneers finished the 2014-15 season 8-15 overall, 7-11 in the MWC.
