De Pere, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team had no answers for a hot-shooting, 19th-ranked St. Norbert College squad on Tuesday night on the way to a 73-53 loss.
The Green Knights took control after a close first four minutes, turning an early 6-6 tie into an 18-7 lead at the 9:38 mark of the opening half. After Beloit got back within five two minutes later, a 20-6 SNC run to end the half put the St. Norbert ahead 38-19 at the break.
The Buccaneers got within 38-21 less than a minute into the second half on a pair of Steve McAfee free throws but a 19-7 run by the Green Knights made it a 29-point game midway through the half, the largest lead of the night.
Beloit couldn't find its shooting touch, finishing at 37.3% (19-51) while SNC, the top-shooting team in NCAA Division III, hit at a 65.9% clip for the game (29-44).
Noah Forrey had a career night in just 13 minutes of action, scoring 16 points behind 4-4 shooting from three-point. McAfee added 11 points with seven rebounds.
The Buccaneers have a quick turn-around with one day to get ready for their next Midwest Conference game at Monmouth College on Thursday night. Action begins at 7:30 p.m.
