Beloit, WI -- Three Bucs have been honored by being named to the All-Conference team list for the MWC Post-season accolades. Along with the three individual awards, the Buccaneers were also named as the winner of the MWC Sportsmanship Award.
Freshman Wide-receiver Jamiel Garcia, from El Paso, Texas, made the North Division Second Team in only his first season in college football. The speedy wideout was counted on throughout the season for crucial gains down the field. Garcia finished the year leading all Buccaneer receivers, totaling 706 yards and 8 TD's on the season. His longest catch of the year was a 50 yard bomb from QB Ben Sposito. Garcia averaged 18.6 yards per catch.
Senior Tight-End Ryan Sughroue, from Roscoe, Illinois, made the North's Second Team as well, in his final season in the blue and gold. Sughroue was right behind Garcia, finishing 2nd on the season in the receiving corps. Sughroue finished the year with 432 yards, and 4 TD's on the season. Surprisingly enough, Sughroue's longest catch was a literal yard shorter than Garcia's at 49. Sughroue averaged 13.5 yards per catch this season.
Junior Jake Karlicek was the third Buccaneer to make the North's Second Team. An Offensive Lineman from Hickory Hills, Illinois, Karlicek was the ever present rock on the line, defending QB's Ben Sposito and Erik Mitchell all season long.
