Beloit, WI -- Seth Duerr, head coach of the Beloit College Football team, has announced the captains for the upcoming 2017 season.
Ryan Sughroue, a senior tight end from Roscoe, Illinois (Hononegah), and Jake Karlicek, a junior offensive lineman from Hickory Hills, Illinois (St. Laurence), will lead the squad into the 2017 season.
Sughroue was third on the team in receiving with 28 catches for 276 yards and four touchdowns. His four TDs were fourth on the team.
Karlicek, a two-time Second Team All-MWC selection, helped anchor the offensive line. The Buccaneers averaged 422.7 yards per game in offense with just under 200 yards on the ground and 226 thru the air. The offense averaged a Beloit record 6.1 yards per play.
The Buccaneers open the 2017 season on Saturday, September 2, vs. Lake Forest College at Strong Stadium.
