Buccaneer Football Introduces New Assistant Coach

January 19, 2017

Beloit, WI -- Beloit College Head Football Coach Seth Duerr is introducing Kevin Canty as an addition to the coaching staff for the Bucs.  Canty will fill the role of Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator for the Bucs when he begins his duties on February 6.

"Kevin brings a wealth of experience as an offensive line coach, and he has a proven track record of developing players and helping them grow as young men," said Duerr.  "We are very excited to have him join our staff, and I know he will do a great job of leading our men to be successful both on and off the field."

A 2006 graduate of Wingate University, where he was a three-year letterman for the Bulldogs on the offensive line, Canty brings a wealth of experience with him to Beloit, including head coaching experience at the high school level and coordinating experience at the college level in the Midwest Conference with Lake Forest College.  He has also coached at Brevard College in North Carolina, Husson University in Maine, and the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.  He began his coaching career at Wingate after graduating, working there for two seasons.

Most recently he was the Quarterback Coach and Offensive and Special Teams Coordinator at Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina.  His head coaching experience came from three seasons at Hampden Academy in Maine, where his offense averaged 30 points per game.

Canty earned his Bachelors degree in Sport Management at Wingate and his Masters degree in Sport Administration at Nova Southeastern University in 2015.

An All-American at Wingate with over 30 starts on the offensive line, he was a starter in the East Coast Senior Bowl.  During Canty's time with the Bulldogs the squad posted 23 victories.

The Bucs open their 2017 season on Saturday, September 2, at Strong Stadium against Lake Forest College.
