Beloit, WI -- Seth Duerr, head coach of the Beloit College Football team, has announced the captains for the upcoming 2016 season.
Riley Pearson, a senior defensive lineman from Beloit (Orfordville Parkview); Danny May, a senior quarterback from Maitland, Florida (Bishop Moore); and Mason Dixon, a senior running back from Walworth, Wisconsin (Big Foot) will lead the squad into the 2016 season.
Pearson had 33 tackles, nine for loss, with two sacks and a fumble recovery in 2015.
May had 2,346 yards in total offense last season, including 2,088 passing, and had a hand in 21 touchdowns, 17 through the air.
Dixon rushed for 1,138 yards, his third straight 1,000-yard season, and 12 touchdowns in 2015. The three-time All-MWC honoree enters his senior season third on Beloit's all-time rushing list with 3,663 yards and 31 touchdowns.
The Buccaneers open the 2016 season on Saturday, September 3, at Lake Forest College. The home opener is set for the next Saturday, September 10, against Knox College at Strong Stadium.
