Beloit’s Nicole Dolcimascolo netted five goals and recorded two assists in the Bucs’ 23-10 loss at Whittier in California Monday night.
Nearly all of the scoring came in the first 30 minutes of the contest as 26 of the games 33 goals were registered. Beloit opened the scoring with Dolcimascolo winning draw control and scoring just 11 seconds later.
The Poets responded and set a blistering pace offensively that the Bucs were unable to overcome as Whittier took an 18-8 advantage at the half. Just seven goals in total were scored in the second half.
In addition to Dolcimascolo’s five goals, Fiona Milchman netted three of her own while Casey Ryan and Rachel Catalano found the back of the next once each. Olivia Nasatir added a helper in the game.
The Bucs are slated to face Pomona-Pitzer College in Claremont, Calif. Tuesday at 11 a.m. in their final game on the west coast. The Buccaneers return to Beloit to host Concordia-Chicago Saturday, March 17 at noon.
