De Pere, WI -- The Bucs traveled north to play MWC North Division Champions St. Norbert on Saturday. The Green Knights got on the board on the first possession of the game, and never looked back, finishing the regular season match-up with a score of 47-7.
The Bucs were held scoreless for the first half of play, while St. Norbert put up 21 immediately in the first quarter, and 12 in the second, going into the locker room at half.
In the first possession of the third quarter, QB Ben Sposito would get the Bucs on the board, hitting senior TE Ryan Sughroue for a 33 yd TD. Berlin's PAT after would be good, bringing the score to 33-7 in the 3rd.
The Green Knights would score once more before the fourth quarter, and would have the only score in the fourth, as Ben Styczynski would run in from 2 yds out to make the final score 47-7.
For the offense, Sposito would finish 13 of 22 passes for 129 yards, while RB Joey Werner earned 103 yards on 15 carries to lead the ground game.
On defense, Andrei Prikhodko made sure his presence was felt trying his best to stop the St. Norbert offense, picking up 10 total tackles, 1 TFL, and 1 sack. Marco Perez was also able to sack the Green Knight QB for a loss.
Patrick Nicholas was right behind Prikhodko with 9, while also pulling in an errant Green Knight pass for an INT, and returned it 30 yards.
With the loss, Beloit falls to 0-9, and 0-5 in MWC play. St. Norbert moves to 7-2, and a perfect 5-0 in MWC. They will travel to Monmouth College, the MWC South Division Champions, to play for the league title and berth to the NCAA tournament.
Next weekends match-ups have been set for the final game of the 2017 season. Beloit will travel to Iowa to face Grinnell College on Saturday. Time of kick-off is 12 PM.
