Madison, WI -- The Bucs visited the Eagles of Edgewood College for a non-conference matchup, and for 99% of the game, were deadlocked. Then came the ever present junior forward Genesis Dade, who sealed the deal off a long 1 on 1 run down the middle, with an assist from Alexis Miller, sticking one past the Edgewood goalie at the 89th minute.
The Bucs won on the road for the first time this season, 1-0.
Edgewood College actually out shot Beloit by a margin of 8-4, but the one put on frame by Dade was the one that counted.
Freshman goalkeeper Connor Keegan-Lloyd also collected her first shutout of her career, going the distance in net, with no goals allowed, while registering seven crucial saves.
The Buccaneer defense shined the whole way through the game, and were able to tighten up as the clocked ticked down. The Eagles had two on-target crosses with under 3 minutes left to play, but the defense, and Keegan-Lloyd were up to the task.
In goal for the Eagles, Grace Wildeboer went the distance, allowing 1 goal, and making 2 saves.
The other Buc who was able to aim in a shot on frame was midfielder Jordyn Murch.
Beloit returns home to Strong Stadium this weekend, as they host the visiting Marian University Sabres. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 PM.
