The Beloit College softball team was swept by Cornell College in their final games of the season. The Rams took the opener 5-1 and the nightcap 20-5 in five innings.
Senior Erica Stalo continued her productive weekend at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance with a run scored in the first game. Emily Stapay, Dani Strejc, fellow senior Emily Malarski and Kimmy Kellum notched the other four hits for the Buccaneers.
Alyssa Boltik suffered the loss on the mound going the distance allowing just two earned runs in the contest.
The Cornell offense was too much for the Bucs in game two as the Rams posted seven in the top of the first en route to the win. Beloit scored in three of the five innings but were unable to match the Rams’ power.
Ashley Lambert went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in and one run scored in the game. Three Bucs saw action in the circle in addition to Boltik who started the nightcap including Kenzie Roberts, Alyssa Morris and Morgan Lippert.
The Bucs wrap up 2018 with a 5-33 record and 2-16 mark in the Midwest Conference.
