Junior guard Shelby Kline (Rockton, Ill.) has been selected to represent Beloit College on the All-Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball Teams by the league’s coaches.
Kline earned second team honors after leading the Buccaneers in scoring, assists and steals. Her 15.1 points per game ranked fourth among the conference scoring leaders while her field goal percentage (35.7) was eighth-best.
Kline was active on both sides of the ball getting her teammates involved with 78 assists, an average of 3.3 per game that ranks second in the MWC, and defensively she tallied 64 steals. That mark was also second-best in the MWC this season and moves her into the Beloit College record book with the fifth-most steals in a season.
Kline posted double figure scoring marks in 18 of 24 games played with a season high 27-point performance at Loras in November. She tallied eight steals in a contest at Knox in January and nearly recorded a double-double with 26 points and nine assists against Grinnell in December. The junior registered an assist and steal in all but four games this season.
In three years as a Buc, Kline has made 115 three-pointers, just two shy of writing her name into the BC career record book.
Her honor this season marks the sixth consecutive season Beloit College has been represented on the All-MWC Teams.
