Beloit, Wis. - The Men’s Basketball Team showed a lot of promise offensively Wednesday night at Flood Arena, but their second half surge wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Warhawks of UW-Whitewater, as they fell 58-83.
Opportunities near the basket were abundant for the Bucs in the first frame; however, the offense struggled to finish, shooting just 22% (7-32). The second half was a different story, though, as the Bucs managed to put up more points in the first 10 minutes of the half than they did in the previous 20.
Senior Cody Risseeuw (’18 Clinton, Wis.) led the Bucs in scoring with 13, adding 3 rebounds as well. Risseeuw was joined in double-figures by #5 Tristan Shoup (’20 Fort Atkinson, Wis.), who chipped in 10 points to go along with 8 rebounds.
The Bucs (1-7, 0-4) will look to rebound next Wednesday, the 20th, against the Sabres of Marian University (2-6, 2-2). The contest is their last at Flood Arena before heading down to Austin, Texas for a Tournament at Concordia University (TX).
