Nicholson Sets Two Records Against Vikings At Home

November 5, 2017

Beloit, WI -- The Swimming and Diving Bucs hosted the Lawrence University Vikings for the first home swim meet of 2017 in Kresge Natatorium this weekend. While both the men and women showed extremely well, the Bucs ultimately fell to Lawrence by a score of 236-127.

In a sure sign of a bright future, freshman Morgan Nicholson set two new pool records for the Bucs during the meet. Nicholson was a full two seconds ahead of the pack in the 50 Yard Freestyle, finishing with a 25.15.

Later, in the 100 Yard Freestyle, Nicholson picked up right where she left off, this time finishing over 3 seconds ahead of the next swimmer, pulling in an extremely impressive 55.30.

Somer Stoffregen pulled off a win in the 1650 Yard Freestyle as well, with a 19:18.79.

For the men, Joseph Stevenson finished with a 22.27 in the 50 Yard Freestyle, almost 2 seconds ahead of the competition.

The Bucs will travel to Ripon College for an away MWC meet on the 11th of November. Meet is scheduled to start at 1 PM.
