Bucs Honor Seniors, Split Weekend 1-1

Beloit, WI -- The Bucs hosted a big MWC weekend, welcoming Knox College and Illinois College to Flood Arena. On Friday, the Bucs beat the Prairie Fire of Knox College 3-0, while honoring their seniors; Taylor Lewis, Jaylan Dunn, and manager Kevin Joswiak. The following day, Beloit hosted Illinois College, losing a tough match in 5 sets, 3-2.

The 2017 Beloit College Volleyball seniors - Taylor Lewis, Jaylan Dunn, and Kevin Joswiak will leave a lasting impact on the Bucs, and had a huge hand in all successes both on and off the court for Beloit. 

In Friday nights game against the Prairie Fire, the Bucs took the lead and never looked back. 

Amanda Baran led the way on offense, picking up 11 kills in 21 attacks. Paige Wimbrow was a driving force as well, with 16 assists on the night. 

Senior Jaylan Dunn was right behind Baran, with 6 kills, 21 attempts, 1 set and 2 digs. 

In Saturday afternoon's game against Illinois College, it was a straight battle for 5 full sets. 

Three Bucs picked up double digit kills; Freshman Eva Laun-Smith with 13, Senior Jaylan Dunn with 13, and Senior Taylor Lewis with 11. Dunn paced the Buccaneer offense with 40 attacks. 

Libero Abby Gessell backlined the Buccaneers, picking up 23 digs. Right behind her was Laun-Smith with 17. 

The Bucs are right back at home in Flood Arena, hosting the Foresters of Lake Forest on Tuesday for another big MWC match-up. Game is scheduled to start at 7 PM.
