Beloit, WI -- The Bucs entered MWC play for the first time this season, hosting the Cornell Rams at Strong Stadium.
For most of the game, it was deadlocked at 0, with both teams playing tremendous defense, limiting the opposing offenses to few shots on frame. However, the single strike of the night went the way of the Rams, in the form of Pietro Amado's kick at the 88th minute. Beloit lost to the Rams by a score of 1-0, falling to 0-1 in MWC play.
The Bucs opened the match with a flurry of offense, out shooting the Rams 10-4 in the first 45 minutes, and finished with one more shot than the Rams, 13-12. However, the shooting woes of the Bucs continued, as only 3 of the 13 were on frame.
All 3 Beloit shots-on-goal were easily saved by the Cornell goalie, Jerome Richards. In net for the Bucs, Jere Bauer went the distance, making 3 saves as well, while allowing 1 goal.
Beloit falls to 3-7 on the season, and 0-1 in MWC play. They have off until the 5th of October, when they travel to Lake Forest to take on the Foresters. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 PM
