Shots Few And Far Between In Season Opener

September 1, 2017

Madison, WI - The 2017 Buccaneers opened their season at Edgewood College on Friday, losing a short scoring match to the Eagles 1-0.

It took 12 minutes before either team was able to register a shot, but Edgewood made that one count. Garrett Lee took a long run down the middle, and was able to put one past senior goalie Jere Bauer for the night's only marker.

Beloit would be out shot 21 to 5 on the night, with only 3 shots on frame, compared to 8 for the Eagles.

In goal for the Bucs, senior Jere Bauer and junior Alex Lyon split time in net. Bauer allowed 1 goal while registering 3 saves in the first, while Lyon wrapped up the game in the second, not allowing a goal, while registering 4 saves.

Up next for the Buccaneers is a non-conference match at Wisconsin-Lutheran on the 3rd.
