Beloit, WI -- Hoping to reverse the fortune of the football team's game against Lake Forest, the Tennis Bucs took on the Foresters at the Strong Stadium Tennis Courts.
Unfortunately, the Bucs wouldn't have such luck, falling to the visiting Lake Forest Foresters 9-0.
In singles, Meghan Davis would fall the first game to Leeza Bodnar 6-0, but came back to fight with a point in the second, falling 6-1. Emma Hahn would do all she could in her match--up against Tyranny Miller, but fell 6-0,6-2. Jamie Kelly would fight back in the second game against Grace Gould after falling 6-0 in one, but lost the second 6-1. Rose Williams stayed fighting in both games, but ultimately lost to Samantha Russell 6-1, 6-2. The other two match-ups in singles would both be straight 6-0 losses.
In doubles, the Bucs faced more of the same stiff competition from the Foresters. The pair of Priya Heinen and Emma Hahn would be the only group to score against Lake Forest, falling 8-1. Lamphere/Davis and Williams/Kelly would both fall to their match-ups 8-0.
The Buccaneers fall to 0-4, 0-1 MWC, while the Foresters move to 4-0, 1-0 MWC.
Next up for the Tennis Bucs is another home match against the visiting Scarlet Hawks of the Illinois Institute of Technology. Match is tomorrow at 4:00.
