Five Buccaneers Named to NABC Honors Court for 2016-17

Kansas City, MO -- Five members of the 2016-17 Beloit College Men's Basketball team have earned mention on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honor Court.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria, including:

1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

Seniors Andrew Bremner (Physics, Boulder, Colo./Shining Mountain Waldorf School), Mike Gulve (Physics and Mathematics, St. Louis, Mo./Webster Groves), Jacob Manthe (Biochemistry, Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove), Noah Forrey (Biochemistry, Penngrove, Calif./Petaluma) and junior Carlton Henning (Biochemistry, Marshall, Wis.) make up the Bucs' 2016-17 class.  Bremner, Gulve and Henning were all repeats from the 2015-16 Honors Court.

The Bucs’ five honorees were tied with Illinois College among MWC teams, with Lake Forest and St. Norbert putting four on the squad, Lawrence two and Monmouth one.
