Commencement

The Beloit College 168th commencement will begin on Sunday, May 20 beginning at 12:00 p.m. CST due to a slight rain delay. The weather looks to be a bit chilly with a chance of rain, so please plan on bringing an umbrella. More information about the ceremony and full schedule of events is available on the commencement website. Also, for those unable to attend, we will live stream the ceremony at www.beloit.edu/live, and the recording will be made available via our YouTube channel after the event has ended.

Davis, Sallee Earn Spots on ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Team

Greensboro, NC -- Jalen Davis, a sophomore outfielder from Chicago (De LaSalle), and Kam Sallee, a senior first baseman from Huntley, Illinois, represent the Beloit College Baseball team on the 2017 ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Team.  The organization released the All-region squads on Tuesday.

Davis was named Second Team while Sallee was a Third Team selection.

Davis, who also earned First Team All-MWC and D3Baseball.com Third Team All-Central Region, led the 2017 Buccaneers with a .399 batting average, an on-base percentage of .476, 44 runs, 65 hits and 17 doubles.  He had a home run with 35 RBIs and was 5-5 on stolen bases and finished the season with a 1.010 OPS.

He also left a mark on the Beloit Baseball Record Book, recording the second-most at-bats (163), runs, hits and doubles and the third-most total bases (87) in a season in program history.  His .387 career batting average is first all-time.

Sallee, who is a two-time First Team All-MWC pick, hit .381 with three home runs and 46 RBIs.  He finished with a .999 OPS.  Career-wise, he ranks in the top 10 all-time in 11 different categories in program history, including tied for the top spot in doubles (37) and RBIs (117) and second in home runs (11), total bases (237) and hit-by-pitches (28).

The Buccaneers finished the season 19-19-1 overall, 11-5-1 in Midwest Conference play.  Their season ended in the Championship round of the MWC Tournament.
