Grinnell, IA -- The Beloit College Indoor Track & Field team had a pretty good weekend at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, being held at Grinnell College.
Four individuals/relays earned All-MWC honors and three school records were broken - one of them twice in the same race.
On day one of the meet Karen Jones finished third in the 5000m and George Gray was third in the Mile, with both earning All-MWC recognition.
Jones broke the Beloit record in her race, shattering Amanda Hammermeister's 2008 mark of 18:30.88 with an 18:17.67 finish. Emma Koenig also broke the previous record with a sixth-place finish in 18:30.57.
On day two the Women's Distance Medley Relay of Sara DeLong, Nadia Hecker-O'Brien, Ellie Waddle and Emma Koenig broke the 2001 record of 12:55.58 with a 12:54.53 while finishing as the Conference runner-up.
Jones added a second record-setting performance, breaking her own 3000m record on Saturday with a 10:36.57 while finishing sixth in the race, topping her previous mark of 10:46.95 set on January 31 at UW-Platteville.
In addition to her third leg in the Distance Medley Relay, Waddle also earned an individual All-MWC honor with a third-place finish in the 800m.
