Seth Duerr enters his fourth season at the helm of the Beloit College football program in 2017.  The Buccaneers have seen great improvement over the course of his first three seasons, while becoming very competitive with some of the best teams in the Midwest Conference.  Despite fielding a very small roster in his first season, Duerr led the Bucs to an improved record of 3-7.  That win total matched the team’s combined wins for the three previous seasons prior to Duerr’s arrival. The Bucs have placed 15 players on the All-MWC team during Duerr’s tenure as head coach.  Furthermore, the Bucs have excelled academically during Duerr’s leadership, boasting a team GPA of over 3.0 the last two years. Duerr coordinates the special teams and coaches the linebackers for the Bucs.

Prior to arriving at Beloit College, Duerr was the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio.

A native of Bolivar, Ohio, he is a 2000 graduate of the College of Wooster, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry.  He also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Averett University in chemistry, which he earned in 2004.

Before Tiffin, Duerr spent seven seasons as the Defensive Coordinator at the College of Wooster, his alma mater.  He also was the Defensive Line Coach at Ohio Northern University for one season and was a two-year graduate assistant at Averett University, coaching the running backs.

Duerr played linebacker at Wooster from 1997-2000.  Among the many highlights in his playing career were being a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, given annually to NCAA Division III’s Outstanding Football Player of the Year; twice earning First Team All-American honors; twice being named the conference Defensive Player of the Year; and becoming just the fourth player in conference history to earn First Team honors four straight seasons.  He was inducted into the Wooster Hall of Fame in 2011.

Duerr resides in Roscoe, Illinois, with his wife, Lindsey, and daughter, Alexandra.
