Jacksonville, Ill. -- Over the weekend the Buccaneer Cross Country Program competed in the MWC Championship, hosted by Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill.

Almost everyone in the program, both men and women, obtained either new lifetime bests, or season best competition marks.

For the second straight year, Junior Dan Arkes earned All-Midwest Conference recognition.  His 26:04.5 time was a lifetime personal best for the 8k distance and earned him a 12th place finish.

Sophomore Noah Sisson took nearly two minutes off his season's best and was Beloit's second finisher.  Six other male runners had season best marks during the championship.

Eight runners from ladies' squad had either season or lifetime bests for the 6k distance, with many of them improved their times by over a minute.

Senior Miranda Simes broke the 24 minute mark for the first time with a 23:45.3 mark.  Junior, Jamie Manchen, was close behind with a 24:06.8 finish.

Rounding out the scoring was freshman Fiona Cismesia, Sophia Miliotis and Britta Johnson who ran as a pack for most of the race.
