Lisle, Ill. -- After a week off from competition the Beloit Cross Country team was rearing to get back into the action. Clouds hung low in the sky and heavy drops of rain stormed down in Benedictine but the Bucs still ran one of their best races of the season despite these less than ideal conditions. Many runners earned a season Personal Best and some even broke their career records.
Leading the men was Daniel Arkes (Junior, co-captain) cross the line at 26:53.4 in 13th place. In 58th was Forrest Lloyd (Senior) with a 28:20.5 followed closely by Noah Sisson (Sophomore) in 60th earning a 28:23.8 and Philippe Mortelliti (Freshman) in 62nd with a 28:31.6. Rounding out the scoring five for the Bucs coming in 76th was Gunnar Fairbairn (Freshman) with a 29:07.8.
Miranda Simes (Senior, co-captain) spearheaded the women Buccaneers coming in 30th with a 24:44.1 right in front of Jamie Manchen (Junior) who came in 31st with a 24:45.2. Fiona Cismedia (Freshman) crossed the line in 76th at 26:07.6. Behind her in 83rd was Sophia Miliotis (Junior) with a 26:24.8. The last of the scoring five for the women was Frances Knaggs (Sophomore) in 89th with a 26:41.0.
