Cross-Country Whitewater Tom Hoffman Invite Results

Whitewater, WI -- The Beloit Cross Country team was away this weekend at the UW-Whitewater Tom Hoffman Invitational.

With the temperature in the mid to high eighties this race was no cakewalk. The Buccaneers faced the unfavorable conditions head on and ran with both skill and ferocity.

On the women’s side it was Miranda Simes (Honors-term senior) that finished first clocking in a 27:18.1 for her first 6k this season. Behind her was Jamie Manchen (Junior) with a 28:36.2 and Frances Knaggs (Sophomore) earning a 28:47.1.

The last two scorers for the women were Fiona Cismesia (Freshman) and Mingyi Zhang (Senior) with 29:11.5 and 29:28.1 respectively.

Daniel Arkes (Junior) again led off the men claiming an impressive 29:08.1. Philippe Mortelliti (Freshman) came in second for the Bucs with a 29:54.8 in his first 8k meter race. Noah Sisson (Sophomore) finished with a 31:16.8 followed by Gunnar Fairbairn (Freshman) at 32:02.4. And rounding out the scoring five for the men was Forrest Lloyd (Senior) with a 32:13.8.
