Buccaneers Sweep Olde English

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Cross Country teams made themselves at home Saturday with both the Women's and Men's team winning the Olde English Classic, held at Leeson Park.

Ellie Waddle won the Women's race, followed by teammate Emma Koenig.  Shelby Kline was fifth and Melissa Pelkey sixth.  Emily Sneed completed the scoring with a 12th-place finish.

The Bucs topped MWC-foe Knox College by 50 points in the team race while Upper Iowa University was third with 81, North Park University fourth with 88, Sauk Valley Community College fifth with 90 and Alverno College sixth with 160.

On the Men's side Alberto Torres cross the line first followed by Daniel Arkes in second and Charles Sandberg in fifth.  Joe Peacock was 12th and Jack Klobucar 14th to complete the scoring.

Beloit finished with 34 points to top second-place North Park, who had 62.  Knox was third with 70, Sauk Valley fourth with 81 and Rockford University fifth with 83.

The Bucs are off until October 7 when they run at the Benedictine University Eagle Invite at St. James Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Illinois.  The Women's race begins at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Men's.
