Wenzel Sets Beloit 6K Record; Women 25th, Men 27th at NCAA III Midwest Regional

Rock Island, IL -- The Beloit College Cross Country team finished up their 2015 season on Saturday, with the Women running 25th and the Men 27th at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional, run at Saukie Golf Course.

Washington University, the #4-ranked team in the most recent national poll, won the Women's race while Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the #1 team in the nation, won the Men's race.  Five of the Top 20 Men's teams and three of the Top 20 Women's team in the nation competed in the Regional.

Anna Wenzel led the Women with a 48th-place finish in 22:42.20 over the 6K course, breaking Karen Jones' 2014 Beloit record of 22:44.60.  Emma Koenig was 119th, Ellie Waddle 133rd, Jamie Manchen 178th and Mingyi Zhang 211th.

Alberto Torres led the Men in 85th place followed by Jacob Gray in 105th, Forrest Lloyd in 177th, Daniel Arkes in 186th and Josh Smith in 213th.
