Beloit, WI -- For over 50 years, the Beloit College Cross Country team has looked forward to the annual Olde English Classic, run every year at Homecoming.
This year was a highlight as both the Women and Men won the team races, with the Women outdistancing four other teams behind a 1-2-3 individual finish and the Men topping five other competitors with four finishers in the top seven.
Anna Wenzel led the Women, winning the 5000m race by five seconds over teammate Ellie Waddle. Emma Koenig was third followed by Jamie Manchen in ninth and Emily Sneed 11th.
For the Men Jacob Gray finished second followed by Alberto Torres in fifth, George Gray in sixth, and Forrest Lloyd in seventh. Daniel Arkes rounded out the team points with a 10th-place finish.
The Buccaneers now have some time off before getting back on the course on October 3 and the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invite in Milwaukee.
